“Unfortunately we faced travel delay after delay trying to get from California to Banff. I reached out to Viator and the tour company and let them know about our predicament. They both acknowledged that there were tours later in the week and acted like it would not be a big deal to change our date. However, after a lot of back and forth they ultimately decided that “nothing could be done,” and, “their system wouldn’t let them make the change,” so we were just out our almost $400 and they refused to change us to the open slots later in the week. “Although I enjoyed the sites listed in this tour, I was disappointed that crampons/ice cleats were not provided for Johnston Canyon as mentioned in the Overview of this tour listing. Several areas of the Johnston Canyon site were slick due to some snow over the past few days. Due to the slickness, many of us had to take it slow, and had only made it halfway through before we had to journey back down to ensure we were on schedule for other site visits. “It was a fantastic day trip. We visited Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, and several other beautiful destinations. The winter scenery felt like a true winter wonderland. The most impressive part was our driver, William. He provided detailed explanations at every stop along the way. He is also a professional photographer, which helped us capture amazing photos. We completed the itinerary on schedule, and William even added a bonus by taking us to some of his recommended spots, where we encountered Rocky Mountain sheep. “Edward gave us a great tour! We had a stop at Bow Lake to take in the scenery. Then he took us to a “secret spot” along Abraham lake to see the bubbles. He brought a broom and scraper to remove the snow and ice and accommodated all the family photos. Then he took us to a frozen water - Crescent Falls - which was a beautiful end of the day hike and more photos. Extraordinary sight seeing!!”
